If your school has a policy to provide for these basic art supplies, it will be inappropriate to ask the students for bringing their own. In fact, there is no reason for doing so as it is likely to raise immediate parents’ concern. However, if there is no such provision from the school’s side then you may tell them to bring at least the basic things like colored pencils, markers and a couple of other stuff.
