What is the best way to teach writing?

Teaching children how to write is a big initiative and thus when introducing writing, you must make it interesting and relevant to the young ones. Here are a few tips that you can incorporate while introducing writing to your learners: • It’s imperative to understand that the tender fingers must get comfortable with holding a pencil before starting to write. Hence, you must begin with some easy finger strengthening exercises as a pre-writing activity. • When beginning with actual writing, it is a great idea to make them recognize the letters in their names first and then make them write those. • To make writing an interesting activity for the kids, you must bring in some attractive tools like colored pencils/chalks, perfumed markers, water colors, oil plasters, dry erase boards, chalkboards etc. to name a few. • When starting with letter formation, use different materials such as colored glitter, paper bits/strips, salt, clay, play dough and wood to name a few for sparking up the children’s interest.
