Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam, Coimbatore

The Chettinad Group, with a legacy of more than 90 years in education, has been a pioneer in providing a progressive learning environment across Tamil Nadu. The group runs more than 25 institutions including private and government aided schools, a school for adolescents and young adults with special needs, and colleges for Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Polytechnic, Law, Architecture, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences and Pharmaceutical Science. Chettinad Hari Shree Vidyalayam is managed by the Chettinad Group under the auspices of the Gandhinagar Education Society. A request by the members of the society to help educate the children from the Gandhinagar and Raja Annamalaipuram led Padmabhushan Dr. Rajah Sir M.A. Muthiah Chettiar to establish schools for children of all age groups. From 1956 until now, several schools have been established by the Chettinad family and many of them are functioning as charitable institutions.
